So, today is Project Life day, and nautical is still on my mind. Using the leftovers of Glitz’s Unchartered Waters from the layout i did in the last post and some of my own stash, i made this for the first half of week 12 (Mar 17 – 23)

i love this whale and how the little wood veneer from Studio Calico just add to dimension to the title piece.

Another one of my favourite product, the alpha stickers from Amy Tangerine.

Sorry for the grainy photos, it is just too hazy around here *cough cough* For this spread, i used lots of ‘fillers’ from Pebbles and WRMK. I’ve always loved Elle’s Studio’s little tags that add very much interest!

That top quote is perfect for my photo, i love that memory of us singing!

I love the sea, the waves and the anchors. Glitz Design released their version of the nautical theme papers earlier this year, called the Unchartered Waters. I loved it so much! I had to wait quite a while before i could finally play with it (as those who know me, knows that i’m trying to refrain from buying anymore scrapbooking supplies).

In this week’s ‘Opposites Attack’ with Sharon over at the PaperMarket blog, we have decided to make use of the 8 x 8″ paper pad and i was so so happy. Here is a sneak of what i have done!

I started rearranging my scrap space in my bedroom in October last year, after i bought this really nice wooden tray from Cats Socrates.

i was thinking of starting Project Life and this would be perfect for all my tags, cards and what-nots. AND this was what started the major destashing and packing.

Just one year or so in my new place, and this was what became of my scrap space. Even the additional  drawers from Ikea could not create enough space for my stuff. Layouts and albums were piling up, together with scraps and all things nice. They just don’t really look good like that.

Quite an embarrassing sight…

I decided, soon after that, enough is enough! No more expansion of storage space. I shall keep to the space i have and destash! I moved the Ikea drawers under my table, so i would not pile things up under that area.

…and that was a success. I also replaced the old artworks with a new fabric map i got.

After 3 long months of packing and destashing, i finally have a space i’m pretty proud to show!

There are still a little neat pile under my bed on the opposite side of this, but i’m not fussed about them at the moment. I was so happy with this, i told whoever that would listen about my newly packed room. *big grin*

A word of advice for all who’re faced with a messy problem – GIVE YOURSELF TIME. Previously i’ve always wanted to finish everything in a day and at the end of the day, the mess ends up in terrible piles. I feel lousy. The place looks messier than ever and nothing good comes out of it. So, give yourself a little time once in a while to pack bit by bit. I promise you’ll get much much better results, especially if your space is as small as mine!

Today I decided to continue the packing process and decided to organise it in a day that makes it easier for Project Life.

Well…needless to say, there are lots to pack and with the Lunar New Year just round the corner, I do need to hurry!

Destash! Purge!

It was such fun to meet up with Liz during the recent CHA and i think she’s real and sweet. I can’t wait for this collection (and the rest of the Project Life kits) to reach PaperMarket! I love this collection as it is simple, and i could add in any colour i like without losing the consistency of my Project Life album. Sorry, i’m a real colour freak!

So here are my Project Life Week 1 and half of week 2.

i secretly love some text messages and how i can save that using the Print-Screen function on my iPhone (simply go to the page/msg that you like, and press the on/off button and the Home button at the same time). Since i think the messages are mushy, i’ll spare you the details in the photo above

i’ve also added text directly on my photos and it is a fast, easy way to have the same font type throughout the album. I’m not sure if i’m going to stick to that yet!

Things got a little more complicated for Week 2, as i used bits and pieces from the Echo Park Photo Freedom kit and some tags from my new favourite Elle’s Studio.

Still in love with Project Life, how about you?

So i got started on my project life 2013 last year, and prepared all the title pages in advance to keep me going. As i have many 4″ x 4″ pocket sleeves at home, i decided to go with that size for my PL pages. Here are how my title pages look,

Yup, going with my favourite pink shade and trying to keep them as simple as possible!

During the recent CHA Winter show, Boss gave this Echo Park Photo Freedom pack to me and i’m thinking i might incorporate it into my Project Life.

The idea behind the Photo Freedom comes from Stacy Julian and it is a way to make scrapbooking simple again. I love that idea, especially for those who have little time to scrap!

For the rest of us, who are embarking on the Project Life for this year or those who are thinking of starting, here’s a introduction video for you from Becky Higgins!

So while waiting for the Project Life kits to arrive at PaperMarket, just grab the existing scrapbooking materials you have and start!

Another fulfilling trip to CHA this year, and I’m super excited to meet up with many talented designers and old friends at the show! That calls for a separate post when I get home

I’m once again energized and filled to the brim with inspiration and this, I think, is gonna be a year of change. I’m inspired to update this blog more regularly and get some cosmetic changes done to it. And Project Life..I’m gonna get you this year! Definately!!

Recently i purchase a wooden display from Cats Socrates and to accommodate that on my table for all my little tags and scraps, i had to move the printer onto my shelf. To do that, i had to clear a space on my shelf; and to clear a space, i had to find space for other scrapping stuff…and so on…

So yup, there was a major reshuffling of scrapping materials and it is still currently still underway. Will share pictures of those as soon as possible! I target to finish before the Lunar New Year next year

So while i was packing, i discovered many of the beautiful stuff i hoarded since years ago and i decided to just use them up. So here we have it, scrapping while packing, and using up stuff…this process is making me very happy!

Here are some of the layouts i finished recently..

1. Celebrate: This was done with My Mind’s Eye patterned paper, Studio Calico wooden embellishment and Echo Park Camera paper

2. Special Someone: I love this  layout as i used many of my favourite things! The sun is from Amy Tangerine, Clouds from Hambly and rub-on hot air balloon from Cosmo Cricket!

3. Never too late for Ice Cream: I was teaching a five-layout class using papers from Echo Park and Distress Stain. There was just too much leftover stain on the non-stick papers on the table that i decided to just use a piece of plain paper and ‘suck’ it all up. And i used it as the base of my layout below!

All of my favourite things..camera from American Crafts, wood veneer from Studio Calico, Ice cream tag from October Afternoon and felt butterfly from Sassafras!

These paper strips below are from the same class…they’re scraps!

3. I love you: My current favourite layout *blush* Maybe cos i’m missing my bf who’s on a holiday in China! Mainly products from the Dear Lizzy line
