A worthwhile break

It’s been 5 months since i last blogged. I think it has been a worthwhile break to get on with things that require doing! Posting on the blog has taken a backseat then and i think i’m ready to get going again.

Like many of my ‘older’ scrapbooking friends, i have destashed and cleared out my scrapbooking supplies and decided that 2012 will be the year i stop buying. (It’s easier for me, as i still get some supplies free of charge, since i work at a LSS). I guess all we need to do is to look at our stash, and we should see lots of materials unused. They may be acid and lignin-free, but i’m sure these materials look better on our scrapbooks than on their own!

Super inspired by scrappers, especially Leena, who are focusing on recording their memory through Project Life, i decided to embark on that journey as well. I always thought that was what scrapbooking is about, recording memories that matter. So even though we’re in the mid of February, who cares! I’m ready.

I’m going to see how this goes but here is my first page for Project Life at Week 8. Yup, cant seem to get away from a layout!

Decided to go with kraft, teal and red for now. Not sure if i’ll change my mind on the colour scheme halfway through! I’ve also added some hidden journaling on the page as i didnt know where to put all those words! Seem to work well =)

My page for Week 8 (19 – 26 Feb…opps..26 is supposed to be Week 9. Oh well!). As this will go behind the 12″ x 12 layout, i did the segmenting myself in place of pocket sleeves. Did some stitching but not sure if it was worthwhile *haha* and photo collages.

Thanks for dropping by! I’ll try to keep up Project Life. :D

hugs, Mer

  1. Welcome back to blogging! My neck is getting longer each day after popping in every now and then to get updates from you. Hahaha…………. Your pages are looking awesome! I love you’re doing this in 12×12 format. Whichever way you’re doing, it’s the memory recording that matters right? ;) Can’t wait to see more of your spread!
