Lucky thirteen to-dos for today…
so….the damage was worth over 300 bucks…almost 400!!! But i’m a happy flower girl =) See what i’ve got!!
TONS OF PRIMA GOODNESS!!! For all these that i’ve spent on….i am determined to create 25 pieces of layouts (maybe a few projects) from here….Prima oh Prima….how did i ever miss you for so long?!! So yes…..25 layouts/projects it shall be!
Well..the instant i purchase the flowers, i added them to my Graphic45 layout and it adds the dimension i was missing!! I painted the Prima flower to make it match the colours in the layout!
i love Graphic45 =)
I posted the Love, Subway layout on Studio Calico and Judi was asking how i managed to do the flowers without it sticking all over my fingers! So here’s a little visual tutorial!
First, have fun tearing the fabric strips! Cut them into 3 equal parts. That will make 3 flowers!
Stick the ends together..
Place it down on the empty spaces of the fabRips packaging so you can press it down and yet remove it easier once you’re done! Press down on both sides first…
…then gather in the rest of the sides…
TADAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! =) Embellish it with a button and you’re done! Have fun!
off to ikea now!
hugs, Merdrey
…so i woke up early cos i was super excited about the new arrivals at the store…the new PRIMAS are HEREEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! I cant wait to get my hands on them…how much will i spend?? SGD 200 or SGD 300? you think?? I think ALOT =) So…just counting down till i reach the store……tick tock tick tock….
and then there are the webster’s pages that i cant wait for it to arrive….and cosmo cricket….and so many more!!! i think i’m in love with flowers now!!! Bought the new Graphic45’s “Le’ Romantique” collection and have used the roses in 3 layouts already!! They match EVERYTHING!!! Here’s one layout i did, combining Graphic4, Qtea and Studio Calico!
So..last Sunday, my church friends and i had a little Sunday Scrapping Session! It was fun to see everyone indulging in my favouritest hobby =) How’s that for fellowship?

and and and…..DONNA DOWNEY IS COMING TO LAINES AND PAPERMARKET!!!!!!
Seats are going fast so don’t wait!! This is very value for money!!! =)
Got to get ready for work now! Hope to be back with my two other layouts using the Graphic45 roses!
hugs, Merdrey
The past few week have been a massively busy week, rushing out many deadlines, both for work and church. It felt good that everything was completed according to the deadlines and i really thank God for having all the deadlines on different days! =)
Last last week, after a 4-hour class, i was finally relieved that i am done for the week and was going for a church retreat in Johor. I was really looking forward to the ‘break’ as i think i really needed it! Left for work at about 5.30pm and headed to my sister’s house for a quick bath, dinner and time with family then on i went to church, to meet the rest for a 7.30pm departure to the retreat centre. It was a short but nice two days away from everything. My favourite part of the retreat is always the Affirmation, where each of us in the small group affirms one another for the gifts that God has given us. It never fails to draw the group closer together…and open up many hearts =)

On the scrapping front, i finally received my January Qtea kit and set down to work almost immediately! This is what i did with the lovely kit. More details can be found on the qtea kit blog!
For Merdrey’s Monday Moods over at Laine’s blog, i posted 2 layouts done with the beautiful Colorbok kits – My Youth Group *haha*
First layout is titled BE JOYFUL ALWAYS..do you believe i did this at Coffee Bean? =)
Second layout is titled CHRIST TO EACH OTHER..remembering the theme of our retreat!
and and and…the February classes for both Laines and PaperMarket is out on their respective blogs!! I’ve designed two classes for PaperMarket next month, namely:
and A LITTLE BLACK BOOK, which is an altered book cover class =)
last but not least, Emily, a sweet lady i knew from Vintage Plum, awarded me with a cute blog award!
so i’m supposed to post 7 random things about myself….hmm….here goes!
1. My baptism name is Sarah
2. i’ll be painting my wardrobe white today
3. i’m quite impatient ( i can never wait for the correction liquid to dry! Or in scrapping terms, i can hardly wait for glittered items to dry or for the Ranger rock candy crackle paint to dry..on their own!) so i go for the easy way out =)
4. I like to read books that draws me out from the everyday life…best if it can just suck me into the story. Fairytale adventures are my favourite…think Harry Porter, Un Lun Dun etc etc
5. I have a sweet tooth
6. I now have dark coloured hair (till my hair stylist get back from maternity leave!)
7. I’m down with throat inflammation and a cold….am on medication and antibiotics that is really smelly!!
ok..so i can pass this on to 3 fellow scrappers (then they share 7 random facts and pass it on to 3 others) and they will be Lia, Leena and Sasha!Do drop by their blog and your jaw will drop =) Enjoy!
Have a great week ahead!
hugs, Merdrey
..was just having my usual Milo drink (a hot chocolate drink) when an email popped up from Karen of Creative Therapy! My catalyst is up! =) Thank you so much for having me Karen (and thank you Lia!), i’m so honored!! For my catalyst, i decided on ‘What are the most important lessons you’ve learned in life?’
This is what i think is most important in life…to LISTEN. Visit the Creative Therapy blog to find out more about my thoughts on that!
I had decided to go with a simple frame from Ikea, mirror from Buzz and Bloom, girl rub-on from Jenni Bowlin, pearls from Prima and the rest from Ruby Street Designs! I covered the frame with storybook paper using Claudine Hellmuth’s matt multi medium! I also removed the glass and backing of the frame and replaced it with a Hambly transparency and corrugated board, topped with a canvas board.
This is my favourite part of the frame…showing how one should listen with their HEART! You can only see it from the reflection in the mirror =)
So…just listen alright?
hugs, Merdrey
haha…i thought the title of this post is funny =) But that’s because i had a real fun time yesterday teaching the first irRESISTable class at Papermarket! We had so much fun, i asked if i could take a photo of each of them after their tedious ribbon ruffing and they sportingly agreed!
Hope you guys had fun too!! And i learnt a new japanese term (Thanks to Sylvia!). みんなさんはお疲れさまです! (Translation: Good work everyone!)
The other day i was so excited to create this little new display for PaperMarket’s new product – MINIMONSTER!
The lovely monsters are the cutest little creatures!! You really do need to collect them all…there is definitely one you’ll like =)
There’re even the couple dolls! I was also surfing the web for new CHA releases and my jaw dropped *thud* when i saw the new Prima blooms!! OH MY!!!!!!! THEY’RE SO PRETTY!!! Here are some of my favourites…
alrighto…i could continue forever but i better stop. Do drop by the Prima blog to check out more lovelies!!! Do you think they are looking for DT members? =) *wink wink*
Macbook battery is dying now and there’s no power in sight! Chat later!
hugs, Merdrey
so inspired and motivated by Ali Edwards and Leena that i’ve decided to embark on this journey to record my everyday! It will not be a perfect photo but one that reminds me of each day in 2010 =) I’ve owned the 7G ATC card spinner for the longest time (bought it from the RVA store) and i guess it is time i start to populate it! I’m going to make it simple, one polariod photo a day. Since i have yet to received my Fujifilm Instax Mini 25 (which i just just just just ordered on ebay *yippeeee*) i made pseudo polariod shots with photoshop…that should do for now!
I was also thinking about the one word for this new year..it’s a tough one but the word TIME kept popping up. I also like Laura’s OTHERS and Ali’s STORY. It kinda all blend together for me…trying to make time for everyone in my life and squeeze in some ME time too =) i hope i do a better job this year!
ok..gtg now =) If you have time, pop over to Qtea Kits to see a little intro about myself! haha! Oh and tml till thursday, i’ll be at Laine’s having a fun stocktake! haha! The rest did warn me that it will be tiring…..let’s see!
hugs, Merdrey
It is amazing isnt it, just one day difference and it is a year apart! =) Sitting here now in Coffee Bean and waiting for Selwyn to arrive, so decided to drop by with some snippets of my life! =)
It was a fun day at work today, me was new-stocks-arranger for the day! I have this thing about needing to help put up new stocks once they arrive, i like to see them neatly hanging on the walls, grouped together either by brand, colour or occasion =)
Today at PaperMarket, i put up the lovely new The Yellow Bicycle valentine’s collection….
and my favourite Basic Grey’s Origin Collection and the valentine-y Sugar Rush Collection.
Feels accomplished! Melissa had fun with the Martha Stewart punches haha *wink* We closed the shop today promptly at 6pm and i headed home for dinner with my daddy! On the way home, i did think about buying this……should i? I thought that the only way i could do the photo a day for 2010 is if i get the photos instantly =) still thinking…..
Also did my last post for Buzz and Bloom awhile back…it has been a really fun DT experience with Buzz and Bloom and i will miss the interesting products to work with!!
But i’m also happy to be joining Qtea Kits again for the next 6 months….have you seen the sneak for next month’s kit?? Super looking forward to receiving the kit! =)

Oh and please do check out the new classes at PaperMarket for January!! I had fun designing three of them and Jaz and Yanni did a great job with their projects too!! =) i also mistakenly did my Merdrey’s Monday Moods last Monday on Laine’s blog, when we were still having a break! But i was also eager to share the following moveable photo panel that you will learn in the Our Story class =)
And the good news is that you’re now able to download the class schedule from the PaperMarket website!!!! =)
hmm…i took half an hour to type this super link-a-lot post =) To all my friends and family, HAVE A BLESSED NEW YEAR AHEAD AND GOD BLESS!!! =)
Note: Selwyn just arrived too!
hugs, Merdrey
My house…or to be exact, my room is in a serious mess!!! After rushing out a few Christmas gifts, my room is officially a warzone. I’m so in need of a SPRING CLEANING!! My room is overflowing with layouts and albums, papers and all..even with the discounts currently going on for scrapbooking supplies…i think i should stay away…….if i can help it =) …i think i may need a big bite *hees*
So..tomorrow i’m going to head down to the Toyogo showroom and hopefully i can get some cheap storage solution to last me for the next year or so before i move! =)
Also would like to thank everyone who have continued to drop by my blog even though updates are less often now! I am trying to get a timetable of sorts going…..but……maybe i should pack my room first =)
Good night!
hugs, Merdrey
It’s been so long since i last posted!! Oh my…where did the days go? I have been cracking my brain for the perfect handmade christmas gift but alas…time waits for no man..went ahead with a simple melty beads keychain =) i gave them to some of my church friends today and i felt the real spirit of Christmas in them as they thanked me wholeheartedly for the gift. It was worth the every single bead i placed together =) and i thank the Lord for them…every single one…(my friends, not the beads..haha)
So, have been busy (mostly cracking my brain for gifts) and working on the new projects for January next month. This time i have designed a Valentine-themed mailbox, two iRESISTable layout and a mini album. The first two projects are available for viewing at PaperMarket now and i’m still working on the album. I think the album will be fun *hees* it will have movable parts! Hope that what i’m envisioning will turn out good!
Some good news to share too! My Paging Santa layout was featured on Cosmo Cricket’s blog a while back *Thanks Julie and Lindsay!* and i made it to the Qtea kit team again!!

I kinda missed the kits interesting non-scrapping items in my layout so much that i applied for the team again for Jan – Jun 2010. Thanks Jodi for picking me!!! =)
I also did another project on the Buzz and Bloom blog!
Alrighto, think it is time for bed again =) Need to nurse my tummy back to health by having regular meals again! Pray for me! =)
hugs, Merdrey
